Well, at least I made it to the big party Friday night before I got sick. Spent all of Saturday and Sunday in bed, in that annoying everything-hurt-can't-get-comfortable sort of way. Luckily, ayelle had lent me a series of beloved old children's book on Friday, so I had just the right level of reading matter for the times I was able to focus enough. And it's just as well I wasn't called back to AFD, there's no way I could have made it, and no way I could have told them. Anyway. I'm eating the first real food since 10am yesterday now and it seems to be staying put for the moment, so hopefully I'm on the mend. Don't think I'm going in to work today, though... let's hear it for contracting and unpaid sick days :( (Dunno about rehearsal yet -- I'll call smacaski during the day when I see how I'm feeling.)

I'm mostly bummed because Sunday was the one free slot I had for baking hamentaschen this year, and now it looks like it's just not going to happen. Luckily, my mom and sister and her kids made some the weekend I was supposed to go in and mailed them to me, so at least I got to eat some, but I'll be really sorry not to get to give them out with shalach manot.

Oh, poor thing! This has been such a rough year for illnesses. I'm glad you're feeling just a little better this morning. Don't push to make rehearsal (though of course I'd love for you to be there) tonight. Rest up and be well.

Oh, I love those. I think "Half-Magic" was my first experience with metafiction--is that the one where they've read all these books about kids and magical experiences, and wish for their very own magical adventure with rules to be thwarted? :)

I hope you are on the mend and will be up and about soon. Any interesting ideas for a Purim costume? I loved the costumes you've devised in the past - especially the face-painted flowers that matched your shirt.

A friend gave me a fabulous Mardi Gras pirate mask this year, so I got a lovely black and red pirate wench dress to match. A teeny bit on the risqué side for shul, but I cant resist!
