Yes, more of that, please!
Well that was a weekend well spent. Friday I went home, cooked shabbos dinner, and slept. For about 12 hours, I think. Much needed. Saturday morning I actually managed to get myself up and to synagogue for the first time in too long. Nice to be there and catch up with everyone.
Sunday I had a brief rehearsal for First Church's Broadway Night (
chanaleh and I will be singing Bosom Buddies, from Mame.) Then
journeystar,
mactire_aonair, one of his cow orkers and I all went to a Rox game. We went early so we could go play catch out on the outfield -- fun, and we managed to avoid beaning or being beaned by any small children. The game itself was fun as always, but the highlight this time was the food. I had a hot dog, fries, cotton candy, and then just as
journeystar and I were bemoaning the lack of funnel cake in New England, we went to the other side of the stadium and found a funnel cake booth! We left after the 7th inning, went back to
mactire_aonair's place to watch Old School, which I had never seen before.
Monday I went to the barbecue at
tremontstshul, but I had to leave just as they finished assembling the new grill. Met
ironpoet,
alfie1981 and Culp at Central Square and we went to the Museum of Science where we walked our feet off and had a total blast. The museum wasn't crowded at all, which was a pleasant surprise. The butterfly exhibit was really wonderful; I've never been that close to that many gorgeous butterflies before. One even landed on
ironpoet for a while. He's got photos that he will hopefully share soon. We also went to the Laser Magic show. Haven't been to a laser show in many, many years but it was a total blast. Great assortment of music and some really cool laser effects, plus by then just sitting down felt really good. :) Afterwards we were all pretty exhausted, so we collapsed back at Chez
ironpoet, ordered a pizza, and watched Singin' in the Rain (which
alfie1981 had never seen before!)
Back to work today, alas, but the rest of the week I'll be attending Photoshop World, which should be fun. And rehearsals for Merry Wives of Windsor finally start tonight, which should be exciting.
