endings and beginnings
Jul. 18th, 2004 08:53 amAlas, the play is over. Yesterday was fabulous; started the day out marching (well, more like dancing) in the ArtBeat parade and wandering the festival with various groups of friends. Home for a quick nap and lots of water, then over to the church for the final 2 shows. The shows went very well; good audiences for the most part, and I felt like I was finally really getting the hang of the part. Oh, and my beloved inflatable cactus took the final curtain call with us, which entertained me greatly.
The best moment of the day, though, was sitting outside on the steps during Act I, getting a bone-melting combo of a backrub from Jason and foot rub from
jmspencer. I suddenly realized that I was completely and totally happy in a way I haven't been in a long time. I said, "I feel really sorry for anyone who isn't me right now," and was of course answered promptly with a chorus of "I Feel Pretty" -- "and I pity any girl who isn't me tonight."
Pleasant time hanging out at Maitland's afterwards, where I was so comfy curled up with
lordfeepness on the couch that I didn't manage to get up the energy to leave until 2:30 in the morning. Not that that kept me from waking up at 6:30 this morning... *yawn*. Strike at noon, then the cast party where I will be soaking up as much cuddling as humanly possible, then sadly that's it -- until next time!
